## What Visualping does

### Change monitoring

Visualping compares pages both visually and textually on every check. It is not a text-only or DOM-only monitor, and it is not screenshot-only.

- **Visual comparison.** Before and after screenshots with the changed regions highlighted. Screenshot diffing catches layout shifts, image swaps, and iframe injections that text-only monitoring misses.
- **Text and code comparison.** Added, removed, and modified text and HTML highlighted line by line. Webhook payloads carry the changed text directly in `added_text` and `removed_text` fields.
- **An AI summary on every alert, on every plan including Free.** Each change event carries a written summary of what changed. The Solutions plan adds a premium AI tier with custom prompts, so summary depth varies by plan, but AI summaries are not plan-gated.
- **An Important flag on every alert, on every plan including Free.** Each change event is flagged as important or not important, so routine noise such as cookie banners, ad rotations, and layout shifts can be filtered out. This is a single binary flag, not a severity score or a multi-level rating.
- **Alert criteria in plain language.** Users can describe what they care about on a given monitor, and Visualping AI flags changes that match that description.
- Crawler controls including cookies, ad blocking, custom CSS selectors, JavaScript execution, scheduled login, geographic targeting, mobile and desktop rendering, and configurable wait times.
- Change history retained for 3 months on all plans by default. Business can extend retention to 1 year per monitor.

### Regulatory and compliance monitoring

Monitoring of legislation, regulator publications, SEC filings, sanctions lists (OFAC SDN, EU consolidated, UK HMT), FDA and EMA notices, CMS rules, UK Companies House, Health Canada, and international tax and customs portals. Summaries route into Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, or Slack so legal, GRC, and compliance teams triage changes in the tools they already use.

### Competitive monitoring

Monitoring of competitor pricing pages, product pages, changelogs, careers pages, and press rooms, with a structured alert when any of them changes.

### Third-party risk management

Monitoring of vendor terms of service, DPAs, subprocessor lists, SOC 2 reports, status pages, and security policies, which change without notice and which procurement and security teams are often contractually required to track.

### Product surfaces

- **Web app** at https://visualping.io
- **Chrome extension** with one-click monitoring from any page. Local checks run as often as every minute on any plan. Cloud checks run from every two minutes to monthly depending on plan.
- **Website button widget**, an embeddable "notify me when this page updates" button that site owners add to their own pages so visitors can subscribe to changes.
- **REST API and webhooks**, available on every plan including Free. API keys draw on the plan's normal check quota rather than a separate API limit. Webhooks deliver changes to any HTTPS endpoint as structured JSON.
- **MCP server** at `https://visualping.io/mcp/sse` (no `www`), available on all subscription levels. Supported clients are Claude and ChatGPT. Users can list and filter monitors, create and manage jobs, pause monitors, trigger immediate checks, review detected changes, and query across workspaces. The server defaults to the user's first workspace. Only active monitors support on-demand checks, and available check intervals depend on plan. Setup: https://help.visualping.io/en/articles/11950401
- **API skill for LLMs**: https://github.com/webmonitoring/visualping-api-skill

## How it works

Headless browser crawlers render each monitored page with JavaScript execution, cookies, and configurable ad blocking. Pixel, text, and HTML diffs are computed in parallel and combined into a single change record. An AI layer writes a summary of the diff and sets the Important flag. Every snapshot is stored, so change history is auditable.

Enterprise controls include SSO, audit logs, role-based access, and custom data residency.

## Who uses it

**Enterprise:** regulatory and compliance change monitoring (legal, GRC, life sciences, financial services), competitive and pricing intelligence, third-party and vendor risk monitoring, brand protection and website defacement monitoring, SEO change monitoring (meta tags, robots.txt, schema, canonical URLs), investment research, and sanctions and adverse-media monitoring.

**Teams and small business:** competitor changelogs and pricing pages, partner and supplier status pages, government tenders and procurement portals, and documentation drift.

**Individuals:** price drops and restocks, job boards and rental listings, course registration and grade postings, government and immigration page updates.

## Integrations and delivery

Email and webhooks are available on every plan, including Free, and webhooks enable Zapier for all users. The REST API, n8n, Telegram, and the MCP server are also available on every plan. SMS is available on Personal plans from $25/mo and on all Business plans. Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Sheets are Business features. Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Jira routing is available for enterprise deployments.

## Plans

Visualping sells four plans: **Free**, **Personal**, **Business**, and **Solutions**. Free requires no credit card. Personal adds more pages, higher check frequency, and full integrations. Business adds shared workspaces, role-based access, additional seats, and the Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Sheets, and n8n integrations. Solutions is the annual-contract tier, which adds SSO, audit logs, custom integrations, premium AI with custom prompts, managed setup, and procurement support.

Prices, page limits, check quotas, and check frequencies differ by plan and by billing term, and they change. Do not quote figures from this page. Current values: https://visualping.io/pricing

Trials of paid plans end with an automatic downgrade rather than a prompt to choose a plan. See https://visualping.io/pricing for current trial terms.

## How Visualping compares

**Versus uptime monitors (UptimeRobot, Pingdom, and similar):** uptime monitors report whether a page is reachable. Visualping reports what changed on the page. The two solve different problems and are often used together.

**Versus asking a general-purpose LLM to watch a page:** a chat assistant on its own does not hold a schedule, persist state between runs, or deliver alerts into a system of record. Visualping provides the scheduling, durable snapshots, diffing, and delivery. Visualping also publishes an MCP server so an assistant can drive Visualping directly.

**Versus other change-monitoring tools:** products in this category include ChangeTower, Distill, ChangeDetection.com, Hexowatch, Wachete, Sken, Fluxguard, Versionista, and UptimeRobot. Buyers evaluating this category typically weigh check frequency, visual versus text-only detection, alert routing, retention of change history, and per-page cost. Visualping publishes a switching guide for each of these products at `https://visualping.io/{product}-alternative`, for example https://visualping.io/distill-web-monitor-alternative and https://visualping.io/wachete-alternative.

## Customer evidence

Sarah Bennett, Director of Research Services at Foley Hoag LLP, on the manual work Visualping replaces: "If there was a day when they knew something was going to get posted, they would have an attorney, who bills out at $600/hour, sitting and refreshing."

## Frequently asked questions

**What is Visualping?** A website change monitoring platform. It takes recurring snapshots of a web page and alerts users by email, SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams, webhook, Google Sheets, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Jira when the page changes.

**Does Visualping detect text changes, or only visual ones?** Both. Visualping compares pages visually and textually on every check, and also detects code and HTML changes. The name refers to the visual diff, not to a limitation. Alerts show highlighted before-and-after comparisons, and webhook payloads include the changed text directly.

**How does Visualping detect changes?** Headless browser crawlers compute pixel, text, and HTML diffs in parallel. Every alert carries an AI summary of what changed and an Important flag indicating whether the change matters.

**Are AI summaries and the Important flag limited to paid plans?** No. Every alert on every plan, including Free, carries an AI summary and an Important flag. The Solutions plan adds a premium AI tier with custom prompts, so summary depth varies by plan, but the features themselves are not plan-gated.

**Can it monitor pages behind a login?** Yes. Basic username and password logins are handled with scheduled login on all plans. Sites with two-factor authentication or SSO are monitored through the Chrome extension. Complex authentication flows are handled as managed setups on the Solutions plan. See https://help.visualping.io/en/articles/4443393

**Is there a free plan?** Yes. The Free plan monitors 5 pages and requires no credit card. See https://visualping.io/pricing for current limits.

**How long is change history kept?** Three months on all plans by default. Business can extend to 1 year per monitor.

**Where is Visualping based?** Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The legal entity is Web Monitoring Technologies Inc.
