Black Friday Deal Tracker 2024: How to Get Alerts

The latest info on everything you need to know about the best Black Friday deals 2024.

Plus, this savvy deal tracker thats send you alerts on your favourite holiday markdowns.

Millions of deal hunters and holiday shoppers are anticipating this year’s greatest shopping deals: Black Friday.

As it has been for the last couple of years, a year of inflation, supply chain disruptions, record-busting fuel prices and product shortages mean the best Black Friday deals in 2024 are going to be trickling in earlier than the official date on Nov. 25th – in various unpredictable waves.

It also means product stock, like last year, will be limited. Shoppers will need to stay vigilant as to when Black Friday deals launch online, and act fast when they do drop.

This 2023 Black Friday guide includes all the key info you need: some of the top sites to be keeping tabs on for deals, some of this year’s biggest brands to look out for, and how to get set up with a Black Friday deal tracker, like Visualping, to get deal alerts on all the best bargains this Black Friday.

Visualping is a deal tracker that monitor any web page on the internet – including your favourite retailers’ websites – and alerts once they drop their Black Friday sales.

You’ll be among the first to know when Black Friday deals become available. Beat the rush and make this year’s shopping easy and stress-free – while scoring the top items on your list.

When is Black Friday 2024?

It Depends on the Retailer, but Start Early

Black Friday 2023 is on Friday, Nov. 24th. But Black Friday deals will start well before the official date, kick-starting in early October and lasting through until late November. It depends on the retailer.

Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart are just a handful of the major retailers that’ll launch the season early with some of the best deals. Last year, Walmart Black Friday deals launched six weeks ahead of Nov. 25h, in scattered, unpredictable waves.

Officially, Target’s Black Friday sales start November 20th. But, since 2010, the retailer’s launched some of its Black Friday deals a few days ahead of November 20th.

Best Buy Black Friday deals, according to previous years, will likely start November 19th.

Amazon is holding a Prime Early Access Sale launching October 11th, which is essentially Amazon’s Black Friday preview.

When is Cyber Monday 2024?

The best Cyber Monday deals 2023 also start early, weeks before the official date on Nov. 27th.

When to Shop for the Best Black Friday Deals?

Act Fast, While Supplies Last

Like it did last year, inflation, fears of a recession, ongoing supply chain disruptions, labor and stock shortages will pressure retailers to showcase their Black Friday deals earlier.

While it’s not November 25th, the key to successful holiday shopping is preparation. Start as early as the first week of October, to ensure you don’t miss out.

Black Friday deals are in-demand, while stock is low – it’ll be an early, limited time rush. Shoppers should be keeping their eyes peeled for deals to drop, so they act fast when they do.

Instead of bookmarking your top products and incessantly rechecking for discount updates, Visualping will monitor the pages for changes for you, and notify you with sale alerts.

Next up, we’ll review some of the top Black Friday brands, the best retailer sites to check out for deals, and how to get set up with Black Friday alerts with Visualping.

If I Start Shopping Early, Will I Miss Some of the Best Deals?

Last year’s day-of Black Friday deals were no less impressive than the markdowns in the weeks leading up to the event. So, start deal-hunting by October.

Ultimately, if there’s a good offer in the weeks leading up to Black Friday, then you should feel confident that you can take advantage of early deals at the big-name online retailers.

Best Black Friday Brands to Shop for 2024

While it’s still early to know exactly which brands will be on sale, we can certainly make some educated guesses.

The hottest items at last year’s Black Friday sale included AirPods, the Apple Watch, laptops, TVs, consoles, and toys from brands like Hot Wheels, Paw Patrol, and Nerf.

Amazon’s top Black Friday sellers consisted of its own devices like the Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick, and smart bulbs, and some interesting items included the Revlon one-step hair dryer and the Colorfulkoala yoga pants.

Considering there have been many new product launches over the last 12 months – including new Apple devices, TVs and laptops – expect to see older models with some of the largest reductions this year.

Some of the new Apple items may also be reduced, but these discounts won’t be as common or as large as last-generation models.

Check out some of the top Black Friday brands to look out for in 2023.

Black Friday Deals and Apple

The Apple Store doesn’t generally offer deals. It’s just not how Apple does things. That being said, every November, Apple dabbles in Black Friday sales, and it may be worth checking them out. Sales from retailers like Best Buy are even better.

The sale varies each year, such as offering free Beats headphones with the purchase of select devices, or discounts of up to 10% off on select Mac purchases.

Apple usually also offers cash back based on spending, instead of a sale with traditional discounts. Last year, Apple gave out free Apple Store gift cards, worth up to $100 to customers who bought certain products during Black Friday.

For the best Black Friday Apple deals, shop from third-party retailers like Amazon and Walmart, who have been known to discount best-selling Apple products like AirPods and Apple Watches up to 30% off.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 13: With the introduction of the new iPhone 14, Apple fans should expect the iPhone 13 to be discounted significantly from retailers. Apple will offer discounts on the iPhone 13, but likely not without trading in their old device.

Apple Watch, AirPods and iPads: It’s likely these Apple products will get discounted this Black Friday, such as around $50 off the current-gen 10.2-inch iPad.

With the new launch of Apple Watch 7, the Apple Watch series 6 should also get a discount.

In terms of AirPods, we saw the cheapest ever price on them last Black Friday, and this year we’re expecting another $10-20 to be cut off their price.

AirPods Pro are also likely to get a price cut, while the 2020 MacBook Air is already being discounted.

MacBooks: The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros have been $400 off each, at retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. The 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 may drop as low as $949, as it did in August. There will also likely be more deals on the new MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M2.

Black Friday Sales and Next-Gen Consoles

PS5 and Xbox Series X: While there will be plenty of deals on PS5 and Xbox Series X games/accessories, it’s still going to be difficult to buy a PS5. And it’s extremely unlikely there will be any sales on the PS5 console.

There will likely be PS5 going live throughout Black Friday and, with stock limited, you’re going to have to be quick on the draw to bag it. Be prepared for fierce competition as the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be high on many shoppers' holiday lists.

As well as a price tracker for Blcak Friday deal alerts, Visualping is also commonly used as a PS5 stock checker and Xbox Series X stock tracker that alerts gamers of restocks online.

Black Friday deals and Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED

Expect a sizable price drop on the Nintendo Switch, as well as loads of bundle deals on the console. Switch Lite will also get the same treatment. Switch Lite should be priced under $180, and the Nintendo Switch $250.

The Nintendo Switch OLED will also not see a discount, and just getting one will probably be difficult. Bundle deals on the Switch OLED will be the best bet for gamers.

Like with the PS5 and Xbox Series X, get setup with Visualping to monitor Nintendo Switch OLED availability, and get restock alerts as soon as it’s back in stock over Black Friday.

Black Friday Deals and Mattresses and Beds

October and November are, by far, the cheapest months of the year to snatch up mattress deals. Shoppers should anticipate $300-500 knocked off mattresses from brands like Nectar, Saatva and Purple. Bed frames, pillows, mattress covers and bedding will also be available with massive discounts.

Headphones

Expect to see the in-demand Sony WH-1000XM4 noise cancellers to get a decent discount. But the previous-gen XM3s could be the better steal, as they’re expected to drop below the $200 mark.

Beats by Dre headphones will likely also get large discounts, with the Solo Pro, Solo3 Wireless and Studio3 Wireless. Bose, B&W and B&O will also be running Black Friday sales so, for any shoppers looking to score a good headphone discount, sign up for sale alerts with Visualping to know as soon as discounts drop and beat the rush.

You can stay on top of Black Friday discounts and take advantage of the best deals stress-free, without all the manual work involved in doing it yourself – bookmarking your top product pages and Black Friday informational pages, and incessantly rechecking for any updates.

What is Visualping?

With over 2 million users, Visualping is a website change detection and monitoring tool that has been mentioned by NBC, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Politico, among other press, as a simple and easy-to-use tool for getting price drop alerts.

How Does it Work?

When it detects a page change – such as the original price crossed out, with the new discounted price next to it – you get an email alert. The alert includes a screenshot of the web page, with all the changes highlighted for you to see.

There’s also a link, at the bottom of the alert, so you can navigate to your monitored page and make your purchase – promptly, before the discount catches on and everyone else rushes to snag the product for themselves.

To check for changes, Visualping takes automatic screenshots of the product page at regular intervals – every 5 minutes, 30 minutes, hourly, daily, etc – and compares each image to the last to check for changes.

Is it Free?

Visualping is free, with several affordable subscription options for higher frequency monitoring. If you’re looking for a product as in-demand as the PS5, for instance, you can automatically check the page every 5 minutes.

Is It More Than a Black Friday Deal Tracker?

As well as for free Black Friday deal alerts, Visualping is often used as a restock alerts tool to automatically track product availability online.

When an item is back in stock, savvy online shoppers get alerted.

For instance, it’s been used as a PS5 stock checker, and an Xbox Series X tracker.

On a more serious note, during the baby formula shortage in mid 2022, Visualping was used by many parents as a baby formula stock tracker. And, during the Coronavirus pandemic, when vaccines were first approved, hundreds of thousands of people used Visualping to be alerted of Covid-19 vaccine availability in their local area.

And getting setup with Visualping is easy.
